The Job Fair Connecting Developers & Studios
Earlier this year, we partnered with the IGDA Foundation to build the digital hub for their BIPOC Virtual Job Fair - an online event connecting aspiring game developers with studios from around the world. For a community historically underrepresented in game development, this wasn't just another job fair. It was a statement: access, visibility, and inclusion as action, not aspiration.
Building from the Ground Up
We started with a simple Canva flyer mockup shared by the IGDA-F team. From that single graphic, we extracted visual elements and rebuilt them into a responsive, modular landing page that works across devices and tells a deeper story about the event itself.
The page needed to serve multiple audiences: emerging developers seeking connections, studios looking for diverse talent, and partners wanting visibility. We designed clear pathways for each - from event logistics and workshop schedules to partner highlights and registration flows.
Built to Evolve
Because this is a recurring event, we structured everything for easy updates. Cities, sponsors, workshop tracks - the Foundation's team can refresh content as the event grows, keeping the focus on the mission rather than wrestling with the site.
Why It Matters
From portfolio reviews to workshops led by industry leaders (like Junae Benne), every element of the Job Fair is designed to make BIPOC attendees feel welcome, seen, and equipped to take the next step in their careers. For us at Firewatch, this project exemplifies what ongoing collaboration looks like: fast, flexible, and aligned with the values that matter most.
One program. One event. One page at a time.
